Subject Access Request

The Safeguarding Partnership routinely collects information during Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs). When a Subject Access Request (SAR) is received, the Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB) must carefully assess whether releasing the information is lawful and proportionate. If the request relates to personal data held by the SAB—for example, information contained within a SAR (safeguarding adult review) - the SAB must handle the request in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

Individual partner agencies may also hold personal data. Any Subject Access Requests relating to information they hold should be directed to those agencies directly.

Further detailed reference in relation to SARs can be found in the ICO guidance A guide to subject access | ICO which sets out parameters regarding rights to access personal data or other supplementary information as well as parameters of responses to requests for information.
